Credit Report

An assessment of a person's ability to repay debt. Generally available for individuals from credit repayment histories and similar institutionally reported data.

Example:  A credit report showing no late mortgage payments within the last 12 months may well mean that a person will be assigned a good credit score (perhaps a FICO score of 670 or above).  This would be a good credit rating to have when applying for a new loan.
